Port Douglas...

loved the trip...honestly i don't know how else to describe it...aside from the big WET and RAINY!!! marvellous 7 days...and i bring you...some selected pics...

beaching at port douglas - blue bottle season. what you see is not what you get...can't swim in the water except for a very SMALL area where you pay to sit on hired beach chairs...of course, we're waaay too smart to do that, and ended up with wet towels.
4WD tour up to daintree. the tourguide, Ian, was the coolest most entertaining guide i've had so far. here's a pic of the lovely mossman gorge. not that it is obvious in any photos from our day, it was PISSING DOWN the whole time and we were permanently under umbrellas. at first we weren't so pleased, but when you think about it...you either have wet and sticky 34 degrees, or a soaking 27 degrees with cooler winds...i leave you to decide...

daintree river cruise, when the clouds finally parted for the afternoon. this is of the 12 y.o female croc, with her first nesting of 3 baby crocs. she didn't seem to care that we were there...

one of the many flooded creeks we had to go through...there was one that was 0.6m deep and very rapid.
damo - this one is for you!!! :P

kenny cooking...(pouring out the soup i made)
blue teletubbie and a very cute slug...

last 2 days consisted of a hired getz and driving around...here is a pic of the curtain fig tree. looks small now eh?
how bout this?

now this...?
driving by termite avenue...
baron gorge - a place to feel VERY small in...

pic of recent mudslide from good ol' larry...we saw alot of landslides driving around actually...
baron falls - one of my fave photos :)

yeap, gotta be careful of those singing trees...
crystal cascade - as we walk on, being aware of that singing tree...

selected swimming hole at crystal cascade - sorry, it's a bit out of focus...
