it's great thing, shopping. especially if you've been dying to go there for a while...especially in newtown...
since us 3 sisters never spend any time together, we thought it'd be cool to head to the place to be...and at 12:30pm, we have eaten a lovely lunch, thanks to corellis (just past newtown stn on king st)

check out the gorgeous strawberry waffle with ricotta cheese, and the corn fritter + bean sprout and asparagus salad! we also had a spinach and ricotta dumpling+ penne pasta, but it wasn't nearly as photogenic as these 2 dishes. i tell ya, ya can't find something this nice round the north shore at all, let alone for 10-12 bucks a dish. and it is FRESH. when you bite into the thick crust bread, you can tell they made it fresh , and that you're not eating light fluffy untextured sunblest bread or whatever they sell at the supermarkets these days.
drinks today were so-so, my soy chai was a bit weak, but their brekkie smoothies and cocktails are to die for! i had a "up n go" (not the packaged crap) and for a 34 degree day, it was the next best thing from being AT the beach!
and off to shopping. though i can't post many photos up of the actual shopping done (we were too busy looking and trying to be taking bloody pics of them) we had a great time. the day was perfect for shopping. slightly cool, cloudy and not humid. you won't feel bad walking into a store dripping of sweat and then asking to try on their clothes off the rack. hehe...too much info eh?
bumped into hoi and sharon (HI GuyS!) whom i hadn't seen in literally year and a bit...strange how sometimes you don't see your friends for such a long time that you don't remember last seeing them...
bought a pair of black shoes "for work":
yes, a little plain. but very lovely and comfy and versatile. great qualities that guys take for granted in shoes...that girls accept are way-too-high standards...but finally, i have them. my perfect black wedges. strappy, yet elegant enough to wear at night. goes well with all the black things i have :D
only thing is i wish it came in red and i woulda bought another pair, just like that. the girl at the store was pretty cool. i swear i've seen her somewhere before, and the couple that walked in to say hi to her...i swear i recognise them. very very strange.
this is of course the highlight of my day (shoes, not bumping into people you dunno how you knew).
for those of you who may or may not know, i will be heading down to melb on 6th Dec. originally i planned to go on 7th, but kenny da man decided to accidentally book my flight one day early with virgin air (aah, not all his fault)...so i'm there alone from tues to thurs, and he's coming down on friday (after all my shopping and el-cheapo accomodation runs out) and we be spending weekend together! what to do, what to do in melb??? please feel FREE to post things to do in melb in comments, or email me! i have no idea what my budget is yet. perhaps one week's pay? maybe less since this won't be the only holiday for the coming 2 months, and i WILL be out of work.
naturally, i have never flown alone, or been in "another city" alone before, so this would be kinda fun journey. it's always nice to explore a city on your own, i'm told. as i don't think i've got the part for Ed. Rita, nor am i going for more auditions for now, or jobs for that matter, i'll be off to hk and jap in end of jan i think.
life can look so fine and dandy when you're jobless. or you're looking forward to the prospect of being jobless. because you're not broke (yet) but you're gonna be free! at the BESTEST time of the year!
I like the shoes, it's old school and it works.
That waffle looks amazing... dammit
masaki we must go have those waffles @ newtown sometime eh?
